Hi, my name is Kevin Leslie Hardisty and I am 39 years old. I live at 17 Sarkfoot Close, Gretna, Scotland.
I went to Bermuda to join the police on 11th September 1984. I had already served with Dumfries & Galloway, the Royal Military Police and Cumbria Constabulary before applying to go to Bermuda.
Whilst in Bermuda I started to develop headaches which was eventually diagnosed as a brain tumour.
I am currently attending Headway House in Dumfries and getting back into the mainstream of life again. I am also studying French, and have recently completed a Desk Top Publishing Course and a Geography 'A' Level.
I love to travel, and since my tragedy I have visited France twice, gone back to Bermuda three times, cruised around the West Indies from Florida, and visited the Balearic Islands and the Costa Del Sol. I have also travelled to New Zealand (via Singapore) to visit Mala's folks, and I went around the world on my own, after the operation, just to prove that I could do it!
As I write, we have planned another trip to Bermuda via New York. The 'we' is my partner and myself - Mala is her name - she is sort of my landlady too. She is a pharmaceutical rep for Glaxo Wellcome, with nursing experience. Ironically, she was also the sister on the ward of the private hospital in London where I had my tumour removed, with the result that I became handicapped down my left side.
That operation was 10 years ago and we are still together, although not as man and wife like one would imagine, but still happy in our arrangement.

This is my story - I hope you enjoy reading it. I have altered the names of certain people for fear of any recriminations. In other words nothing in the text should bear reference to any persons living or dead.
Please visit my site frequently as my story will be added to on a regular basis.
